Prosper for Purpose was launched in January 2013 to help organizations engage, inspire and transform relationships with their publics. Founder Lorraine Schuchart had more than 25 years of experience working with companies, educational institutions, nonprofit organizations, print and broadcast media. She brought her experience and best practices together, and named the company for her philosophy that purpose is the foundation for success.
We are proud to call Cleveland, Ohio home.
Most members of #TeamProsper have worked and played in Cleveland for much of their lives. To give something back to the city that built them, they located Prosper for Purpose in one of its neighborhoods, Tremont. The community is known for good neighbors, great restaurants and a staple of artists and entrepreneurs.
While Cleveland was, for many years, recognized primarily for a burning river, losing sports teams and brain drain, times sure have changed. Burning River is now a beer, our sports fans are called the most loyal in America and we are the home of the 2016 NBA Champions, the Cleveland Cavaliers! Downtown housing cannot be built quickly enough to satisfy the demand by returning Clevelanders who found the grass was not greener somewhere else. Cleveland has been spotlighted for the rebirth of its downtown, its envious food scene and its beautiful neighborhoods in publications including Forbes, the New York Times and Greatest.com. But we didn’t need the media to tell us what we already know — there’s no place like home.
Our B Corp Status
B Corp is to business what Fair Trade certification is to coffee or USDA Organic certification is to milk.
B Corps are for-profit companies certified by the nonprofit B Lab to meet rigorous standards of social and environmental performance, accountability, and transparency.
Today, there is a growing community of more than 1,600 Certified B Corps from 42 countries and over 120 industries working together toward 1 unifying goal: to redefine success in business.
Prosper for Purpose became a certified B Corp on February 4, 2016. We are honored to be part of this community and to be the first nonprofit consulting and fundraising agency in the State of Ohio, and the second communications agency, to receive the B Corp status.
Along with this designation came the obligation to compile an annual report on the benefits we offer based on an independent, third-party assessment from B Lab. Take a look at our 2015 Annual Benefit Report.
